Door Bedazzled

We found this old door while cleaning out the barn. One look at it and I said “dumpster” … Scott, being the antique hunter that he is, said… “it’s a perfect pantry door… it just needs some TLC”. I had been on the hunt for an antique door for the pantry and y’all they ain’t cheap! So I was doubtful.. but I took the challenge.

I started with giving it a good bath, stripped all the old paint, bug houses and sanded it. Found some lovely nests in the old key hole ughh!

I got it as smooth as possible but still saved it’s old nicks and booboos. I did a light white wash and then rubbed on wax to finish it off. Then I passed it over to our builder to cut out the top panel and add glass.

Scott found a cool old vintage lock that fit perfectly.

And drum roll please… we both just love the final product!!!

I love that we are adding some authentic and original Needle Eye detail to the house!
