Nestled in the Ozark Mountains is the quaint little town I now call home, Alpena, Arkansas. There are 2 gas stations, a dollar store, a chainsaw art studio, a Chester’s chicken, a liquor store, 4 antique shops, 5 churches, no stop lights and one diner, Top Rock. Scott says it’s all a person could need…. I’m thinking no Target, no Homegoods, no Michaels, no Panera, no Starbucks, no Dillards… what have I done??! Scott’s response.. you can find all that at the dollar store 🙄

The town of Alpena was founded in 1820. During the civil war (1862) it was said to have been camp to up to 20,000 Union soldiers. It got up to a booming 450 residents in 1900’s as the railroad was built. It was originally call Estes and then changed to Old Alpena Pass and then Alpena in the 1950’s.

Top Rock is a great little diner and bonus they serve diet Dr Pepper!! When you come for a visit we are eating here at least once..
