Progress is happening at Needle Eye. We are on the third week (hopefully last week) of painting the inside.

While the house is wrapped up with paint supplies we are starting to get ready for grading the lot. The dirt guy said he would be able to place boulders to build the wall walkway, put down pavers, and build stairs for us if we had the rock. Since we live on a mountain, we have lots of options for rocks and … best part… they are free!
So scott and I have been steady collecting boulders and rocks.
We have a routine. I scout the rock… he picks them up… and if they are really big we get the tractor.

So on to the bandages…. Scott and I were loading a huge rock just perfect for a step into the tractor bucket when we had a slight miscommunication.. specifically, when to let go of the rock…. You know usually there is a one, two, three, drop… um we didn’t get to the numbers it was just a drop and guess who didn’t get their hand out of the way fast enough… yep, me.
I look down, yank off my glove and found I was missing the top of my index finger… blood … everywhere. Scott got me back to the house, wrapped my finger up, and took me to the emergency department. I got an X-ray and shot, along with lots of bandages…. lots of bandages. Now luckily enough when I got home and shook out my work glove… low and behold, I found the missing part of my finger🤢
I’m sparing you the gory pic.. you can text me if you wanna see those… but I am sharing the piece of my finger and comparing to my other index finger.

Let’s just say I no longer have a finger print on my finger and it looks “gnarly” according to the ER nurse. When it heals it will be slightly shorter and a bit lop sided…. but on the bright side it is still attached…
My friend tells me I am officially a country girl now…
