Nope, nada, no way, uh uh, um no thank you..

Nope.. snakes are NOT welcome in da’coop!

Y’all I walked into the coop to drop a golfball into the nesting box (it’s supposed to promote egg laying in the nesting box- not anywhere that strikes the chickens fancy like mine are doing way out in the woods)…. So as I’m about to drop the ball I spy a very large black snake head looking right at me…. Like right into my soul..

Okay so what does one do in such a heart rending situation…

1. Scream? No sound would came out of me… I was in utter shock,

2. Faint? Couldn’t get me to lay on chicken $&@# for any amount! I have limits,

3.Soil ones self? Nope scared me but not that bad,

4. Run? Yes. I turned and ran and the rest of the chickens came with me. We were all not having that reptile anywhere near us!

Scott on the other hand… said go get your phone and let’s take a picture of it.

See all the chickens are telling Scott all about it!

As I’m headed back the snake is slithering out of the back of the coop.

Scott runs around to grab him and the snake finds a hiding place between the coop frame and the tin.

Just it’s head was peeking out

So then we waited…..and waited and waited… finally Scott said okay I’m done waiting. Grabbed the drill and started undoing the tin where the snake was hiding…. The following seconds that passed were .. yes .. full of me screaming and standing on top of the chair of the ranger..

Note… No one was harmed in the making of this video ..

Scott on the other hand.. was cool calm and calculated.. here’s some up close and personal pics of scott and the snake

May I say.. thank GOD I married a country boy!! And I am not so sure we need eggs.. I mean really don’t they raise cholesterol and all sorts of bad stuff..

Only kidding.. well half kidding. I’ll be doing a proper snake check before entering the coop!

And in case you are wondering the snake has been relocated on the opposite side of the property. Do not return! Scott is kicked back with a cold one! Me… well I’m scanning the horizon and trail.. looking for the snake.

No way I could have stayed around for that adventure. You are much braver than me. ❤️
