Not much happening at Needle Eye on the construction front. We are waiting on rock and windows to finish exterior. Waiting on cabinets and trim for the inside.
Despite the waiting… there has been progress on the chicken front!

“The girls” as I call them are now free to roam during the day. They have established their pecking order… didn’t know that was a thing… but the head girl is mean…. until the real head girl comes out with tomatoes and then she is my bestie! I have a few of the big girls eating from my hand and aren’t afraid to come to me.

“The little girls and boy” are growing. They can make it up to the top of their cage to roost. They are so funny as soon as I feed them the are all up in their food tray scratching it out and making a big ole mess! They make the sweetest chirp sounds and you can tell they are still babies. They haven’t been out of their pin yet and I’m sure the big girls have dibs. Don’t want to see that pecking order get worked out…

And to sit and watch it all go down…Scott made me a rock bench! That sucker was heavy!!!

After being mesmerized by the birds, I can merely look up to be mesmerized by the beauty of Needle eye!

Back to waiting… I’m still waiting on my first egg! Come on already girls!
