It’s time to work on shoring up the chicken coop to get it ready for chickens!

Scott worked on patching up all the places that had rotted wood and daylight was peaking in. The coop is built on a huge flat boulder so the floor is solid and secure. Hopefully this will keep any predators out! Certainly don’t want another Mable incident… poor Mable.

Apparently chickens prefer 2-4 inch branches for roosting … “roosting” is what they do when they go to sleep. Can you imagine having to hang on to a branch to sleep?

And check out the sign we found at a local antique store.

We also found some water dispensers and feeders in the shed… and some bones that look like they came from cows???? Ummm.. why in the world were they in the coop?? The mysteries continue.

Next step… chickens😜🐔 Do you have any specific breeds you recommend?
