Taming the barn .. one side at a time

How it looked when we bought it.

Scott is working to clean it out and to get the structure stabilized and then will fix rafters and patch back the metal roofing … good thing we have a whole lot of scrap tin hanging around.. we might even be able to match the patina

Scott used an old cedar tree as the new post.

Ever heard of stanchions? I sure hadn’t. Turns out it is used to hold the head of a cow in place, especially to facilitate milking. And low and behold we found some on this side of the barn.

The animals head goes through and the rack and the other side of it is wooden feed boxes

So does this mean we need some cows??? Maybe so… maybe those cute little hairy ones 😂

A few treasures from the clean up. Sifter of sorts, old wooden box and not sure what the white pitcher thing is…
