Taming Needle Eye Mountain

Here are some of the “ah look how cute” critters the trail cam has captured so far on needle eye….

Turns out there are all sorts of critters that call Needle Eye Mountain home. I’ve already shared the now semi famous “Hank the Tank” snake photo (check out the “what does rat poop, a treadmill, and a snake skin have in common?” post if you missed meeting Hank).

Now don’t get me wrong there are some beautiful peaceful sounds on Needle Eye. There are birds chirping, squirrels burrowing, the wind rustling leaves, branches gently brushing against each other. Picture being all snuggled up and sitting on the porch with a hot cup of coffee at sunrise.. yep it is definitely the stuff country music songs are made of….

But … then at night when you hear those same sounds.. a crunch, rustle, brush it’s a whole different dynamic… one that starts with…. Nudge nudge… Psst…Scott, did you hear that?

Needless to say.. if I go out at night not only will I have on my handy dandy snake boots… but I will also have on a holster with my nine millimeter. I’m also thinking of adding bear spray and a shot gun after seeing some of the less than “ah so cute” pictures…

I might also change my name to Annie…
