While we’re waiting for the “shed-do-minium” to be finished, we are living in a rent house. And while we’re grateful that a town of 392 (now 394) has a long-term rental that accepts three dogs and a cat, there have been times when it might have been better to be sleeping in a tent on the mountain.
Have you ever been sitting in a work meeting and see something moving across the counter out of the corner of your eye? I hadn’t until we moved into this house. Right in the middle of a video conference call, I see a mouse running across the kitchen counter. I immediately jumped up on my chair and hollered for help, much to the delight of the conference call. Y’all moving to the country is coming with many firsts for me!
Almost as bad as the mice, are the giant spider/cricket bugs. So far we’ve removed five mice and six of the mutant insects.
I have found that the vacuum cleaner hose is a good spider catcher, but my release technique still needs some improvement.
Then there’s the early morning gifts from the birds. Seriously y’all, look at this picture. How much poop can one tree drop? We had to take it to the car wash, and the drive-through guy just shook his head and said “That ain’t coming off with this wash.”

I’ve never been so ready to move into a shed!
